Neighbourhood Policing Team Weekly Update

Neighbourhood Policing Team Weekly Update

👮🏼‍♀️  A week with Wimborne Neighbourhood Policing Team  🚔

It has been another busy week for the team, with plenty going on across our communities. Here's a little look at what we've been up to!

💻  Keeping people safe online - This week we've been supporting and safeguarding someone who has been affected by cryptocurrency fraud.

Online scams are becoming increasingly convincing, and fraudsters can be very persuasive. A few things to remember:

💚  Be cautious of anyone promising quick or guaranteed returns on investments.

💚  Never feel pressured into transferring money or sharing personal information.

💚  If something doesn't feel right, take a moment to stop and check before going ahead.

🚶🏽 Out and about on patrol - We've been carrying out anti social behaviour (ASB) patrols in Wimborne, Sturminster Marshall and Corfe Mullen, keeping an eye on areas where concerns have been raised. Being visible and approachable is a big part of what we do, so if you spot us out and about, please do come and say hello 👋🏻

💙  Looking out for our community - We've also been visiting vulnerable members of our community to check on their welfare, offer support and make sure they're safe and well. Sometimes it's the quieter parts of our job that make the biggest difference.

🏡  Burglary prevention and reassurance - We've been lending a hand to our colleagues in Ferndown following a burglary, as well as carrying out a reassurance visit following an attempted break in at a business in Wimborne.

It's a good reminder to take a few simple steps to keep your property secure:

🔑  Make sure doors and windows are locked, even when you're at home.

🔦  Consider security lighting and CCTV where appropriate.

👀  Keep an eye out for suspicious activity and report anything that doesn't seem right.

❤️  We're here for our communities - Whether we're out on patrol, supporting victims of crime or simply having a chat with residents, our aim is to help make our communities safer.

Have a lovely weekend from your Wimborne NPT 🙂
